Walters Public School will be open today, Monday, November 18, at our regular time. Busses will run at their regular schedule time but there could be delays in picking up students due to road conditions.
JH Boys Basketball practice is cancelled.

Dear Parents, Students, and Staff:
We have been monitoring the weather forecasts for tomorrow. It appears that the severe storms will come through Walters sometime between 2:00AM and 7:00AM. At this time, Walters Public Schools will be open tomorrow, November 18, 2024. We understand that there may be concerns regarding safety. If parents feel it is in the best interest of their child(ren) to keep them home, you may choose to do so and we will count it as an excused absence. Our sites have storm shelters that will keep our students and staff secure during the school day. A decision on when bus routes will start will be made by 6:45AM. With the possibility of storms coming in while bus routes are going and potential hazardous road conditions due to rainfall amounts, we will wait to make that decision. We ask that all parents check our website, Walters Blue Devil app, email or Facebook page in the morning in the event additional changes are made. Hopefully, this gives parents an opportunity to have a contingency plan in place for tomorrow just in case. Again, your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we have tried to predict how the unpredictable weather will behave.
Red River Technology and FAME Classes are cancelled.
Sincerely,
Jimmie Dedmon, Superintendent

The Hoodenpyle family focuses on raising stocker cattle that they bring from the eastern U.S. to graze on wheat pasture on their Cotton County, Oklahoma, farm and ranch.
