WHS Sophomores & Juniors -- Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 pm there is a concurrent meeting for parents/guardians of students wanting to sign up for Fall 2026 concurrent classes. We will go over new policies, admission steps, and sign enrollment paperwork.

If you are unable to attend, there will be future meetings. March 23 is when enrollment opens for Western Oklahoma State University. Parents must attend a meeting or set up a time to go over policies and procedures with our WHS school counselor, Mrs. Bussinger. If you have questions or concerns please email Mrs. Bussinger at adbussinger@waltersps.org.

Courtesy of Walters FFA -- What better way to celebrate FFA Week than to announce our State Degree Recipients! Congratulations to our three Oklahoma State FFA Degree recipients! Seniors Rylee Peer, Cori Wilson, and Ava Woods. The Oklahoma State FFA Degree is the highest degree that can be awarded at the state level by the Oklahoma FFA Association. It recognizes members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to agricultural education, leadership development, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. Receiving the Oklahoma State FFA Degree is a prestigious honor that reflects dedication, responsibility, and excellence in agricultural education. It represents a member’s growth as a leader, student, and advocate for the agricultural industry in the state of Oklahoma. We are so very proud of each of our degree recipients and look forward to celebrating them at the 100th Oklahoma FFA Convention.

Good Luck and safe travels to Varsity Choir & the Lady Devils today! Varsity Choir is headed to Elgin for the OSSAA District Concert Choir Contest, today! And our Lady Devils are headed to round 2 of the Regional Playoffs at Riverside. They play Minco at Riverside at 1:00. (This game will not be streamed)

This just in!!! The JH and HS Lady Devil Powerlifters attended the Regional meet today in Tishomingo. These girls qualified for the STATE meet! (pictured) Junior High: Raelynn Scott - 1st Avery Lindsey - 2nd High School Lexie Lindsey - 3rd Dezirae Tabbytosavit - 5th AND congrats to the entire Walters Junior High team who were named Small School Junior High Champions!!

New picture purchasing requirements -- You can no longer purchase your student's pictures online through Oklahoma School Pics. They will only accept a paper form with the money inside, turned in the building office by Thursday, February 26. EDIT -- If you already purchased online, the order will go through.

Saturday, February 21, 2026 , some of our Band students traveled to Elgin HS for District Solo/Ensemble competition.

The Brass Bros: our Low Brass Trio (Hunter Curbello, Corbyn Stephens, and Jaxon Kelley) scored a Superior rating and will be advancing to State!

The Trominet Duet: our Clarinet and Trombone duet (Lezlie Belcher and Hunter Curbello) also scored a Superior and will be advancing to State!

The following soloists scored a Superior Rating and will be advancing to State:
Lezlie Belcher: Clarinet
Ethan Miller: French Horn
Logan Curbello: Trombone and Trumpet

Gracelynn Williams scored a Good rating on her Marimba Solo
Kaitlyn Cast scored an Excellent rating on her French Horn Solo
Amilea Bustos scored and Excellent rating on her Clarinet Solo
Abigail Eddy scored a Superior rating on her Flute Solo
Samuel Matt scored a Superior rating on his Clarinet Solo
